Physician incentives for recruitment and retention in rural and remote Alberta
Reviewed and made recommendations on a $70M+ annual incentive program to support practice of medicine in rural, remote and northern Alberta. Included online survey of over 400 physicians, over 60 interviews with stakeholders from across the province including Indigenous physicians and communities.

Supporting First Nations, Inuit and Métis Strategic Objectives
Development of context and options to facilitate leadership discussion on implementation of strategic priorities, with attention to cultural safety, appropriateness and meaningfulness. Focus included strengthening internal capacity, identification of cross-cutting themes, options for engagement, and concrete actions across strategic priorities.

Form and function for a new Community Wellness
Through a series of facilitated sessions and background research on the structure of other First Nations wellness departments, creation of options for organizational design that support a future vision of a department with an expanded mandate.

Physician contracting review
Review of physician contracting, including making recommendations for increased efficacy and efficiency in tracking and payment, and meeting of legal requirements.

Assessment and recommendations for health professional regulation
Conducted a review of how the Government of Yukon regulates health professions vs the standards of good regulation. Made recommendations on modernization of health profession regulation, resulting in a government mandate commitment to revise the Health Professions Act.

Assessment and recommendations for transformation
Identified key risks and opportunities, including 122 specific issues with mitigations or solutions. scope included: governance, policy and legislation review, financials, processes, client and stakeholder relationships, asset lifecycle planning, long-term budgeting / capital planning and clearer roles and responsibilities of branches including efficient handoffs between branches.

Created a strategy for data access and analysis to support evaluation objectives.

Design and build a pan-Canadian linked data resource
Directed the establishment and growth of one of the world's largest interdisciplinary health data resources, merging initiatives across multiple sectors including health, education, early childhood development, work, immigration, genomics and more. This included extensive privacy-related negotiations, a suite of necessary policies, and design / development of technical infrastructure.

Established US offices including securing offices, creation of the business and marketing plan and implementation, including budget development, staff management, recruiting, vendor contract negotiation (i.e. payroll, IT), overhaul of company image and positioning, intensive marketing of the US presence, project coordination.

Bellevue Hospital Center
Enhancing resource utilization
Designed and led a series of initaitives to enhance efficiency and effectivness of health services in New York City's largest public hospital. Included a Length of Stay (LOS) Reduction project, creation of a data driven Physician Balanced Scorecard, and work on regulatory compliance and strategic planning in preparation for a review.
